My work in clay is rooted in functional pots. I take joy in creating them, and in knowing that they are loved and used. Currently, I am working in porcelain in search of a certain softness in the way they hold, along with surfaces that have both depth and brightness. The sculptural work comes from things I've discovered in spending time with vessel forms. It comes also from love of repetition and simplicity in process. The brushes are a bit of a side project. I am ever appreciative of tools and our interactions with them, and these are a way for me to find new ways to move ink around on paper. All of my work comes from a place of playful precision and from thinking about our interactions with objects.
